ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN INTO SCIENCE

ASOWOS- STEM Academy is a 5-weeks program, which will take place from July 3rd to August 6th 2022. This Academy is an initiative of ASOWOS to move from
discussion to actions pertaining to women and girls participation in STEM disciplines
and career. This will increase the participation of women in the innovation of new
Technologies, leadership, and solve problems that plague the country. Bridge the
gender gap for girls and women in STEM. The total budget is at eight million four
hundred and seventy five thousand francs CFA (8.475.000FCFA)
The project beneficiaries are pupils and students from ages 5 to 19. They will receive
regular class lessons, and carryout experiments, of the necessary principles and
concepts from each lesson. They will be divided into the following age brackets 5-7, 8-
10, 11-14, and 15-19 during other STEM focus exercises and projects. The lessons
will be in 2 parts, from 8:30am to 11:30am, the science syllabus for each class be will
taught theoretically and practically, then a break and from 12:15pm to 2:30pm STEM
focus projects which include artificial intelligence and robotics, computer engineering
and software's designs, architecture and civil engineering, environmental science etc.
Each pupil or student is required to pay 15000FRS (Fifteen thousand Francs CFA).
Girls will have a 35% scholarship, covered by ASOWOS. In this session, ASOWOS
targets 300 pupils and students.
